Today is the first Mother's Day for me since my mother passed away and I am missing her terribly. I can remember when I was little and Mother always made our corsages to wear to church on Mother's Day. She cut the roses herself from the bushes in our side yard. I always thought that it was sad for her to wear the white corsage when all of us girls were wearing our red ones. I have been thinking about how fortunate I was to have her for so many years when many of my friends lost their mothers much too early. My mother was selfless, caring, thoughtful, courageous and strong. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed having fun. She had to learn to be independent. I hope that I have inherited even half of her traits! So today I remember my mother with this beautiful white and red rose.

I was fortunate to have known your mother and she was truly an amazing lady. I'm sure she will be missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her. Have no fear, you have many of her wonderful traits.
